"⭐ 1 STAR — TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH STATE FARM

I am extremely disappointed with the way State Farm has handled my homeowners insurance claim.

After heavy winds and rain, my roof was inspected, and I filed a roof-related claim on May 5th, 2026. Instead of feeling like my insurance company was there to help protect my home, I was later informed that State Farm Underwriting is requiring me to completely replace my roof or my policy will be non-renewed effective July 19, 2027.

I have paid State Farm substantial amounts for both homeowners and auto insurance, yet when I actually needed my homeowners insurance, this is how I was treated.

I asked legitimate questions about the decision and requested to speak with management. Instead, I was told the decision came from Underwriting—but I cannot speak with Underwriting, I cannot get the inspection report or photographs used to make the determination, and there is apparently no appeal or review process available to me.

How is that acceptable?

State Farm can make a decision that potentially leaves a customer without homeowners coverage, but the customer can’t speak to anyone who actually made the decision or obtain the documentation used to reach it?

And I STILL have not received the official underwriting letter explaining the determination.

This entire experience has been extremely frustrating, disappointing, and unacceptable. I expected my insurance company to help me navigate a roof claim after severe weather—not make me feel like I’m being punished for filing a claim.

After this experience, I will seriously reconsider giving State Farm another dollar and will be exploring my options with the appropriate insurance authorities.

State Farm needs to do better. Customers deserve transparency, accountability, and actual support when they file a legitimate claim—not to be pushed aside and told, essentially, “replace your roof or lose your coverage.”"
